2012 and Earth Crust Displacement
Yahoo MovieTalk interview with 2012 Director.
So how does Roland Emmerich end the world in his upcoming epic “2012″? “Pole reversal,” he said in an interview this week. “All kinds of stuff going on. But it’s basically major earthquakes and volcano eruptions which kind of cause this global flood.”
“We found this obscure theory of ‘Earth crust displacement,’ written in the ’50s by someone called Professor Hapgood. Albert Einstein wrote the foreword to his book. It pretty much [says] every X number of years the whole Earth’s crust shifts, all together. We thought that that was a great underlining theory that can explain why there can be a flood.”
. . . .
We thought important to add to Mr. Emmerich’s statement that neither Charles Hapgood nor Albert Einstein ever suggested that there would be an earth crust displacement in 2012.
Also Charles Hapgood never connected his earth crust displacement theory with the Mayan calendar.
While we look forword to seeing the2012 movie, especially what looks to be terrifc special effects, we must remember it is just a movie!
We fully expect to be buying the DVD in 2013.
. . . .
Please see: Earth Crust Displacement for an explanation of the theory or read the books at Atlantis Books.
Rand-
Nice meeting you today. I love your comment about buying the DVD in 2013.

September 13th, 2009 at 5:40 pmDidn’t Immanuel Velikovsky also write about earth crust displacement in “Earth in Upheaval”? I remember having read that book many years ago, and something about crust displacement stuck in my mind.
Hi Judith,
His 1950 Worlds in Collision was the first modern attempt to revive the notion of a great catastrophe in the past but his theory involved a change in the Earth’s axis (as the result of another planet flying close by) rather than an earth crust displacement.

November 21st, 2009 at 12:35 amIt may or may not..but the unusual trend in nature is telling us something.. we all know that there are frequent earthquakes and natural disasters.. signalling us something.. we’re responsible for this.. Nice movie.. what will be the real?
November 23rd, 2009 at 6:01 amI believe that 2012 will be an absolutely successful year, no matter what´s gonna happen or not.

Well the movie was absolutely a feast for all graphic loving eyes, even NOSTRADAMUS have foretold about this kind of happenings in his prophecies…well its all in the hands of god,one thing i got attracted from the movie and a strong message still prickling in my heart is “WHEN LOVE WITHERS FROM THE HEART OF HUMANS,THIS WORLD WILL NEVER LAST…” so let’s be good enough in sharing it.
November 25th, 2009 at 12:40 pmNo one can able to create the film exept
November 26th, 2009 at 7:58 pmMr.Roland Emmerich . “Earth crust displacement theory” reaches to all intermediate people. Every one is waiting for the END OF THE WORLD.

December 10th, 2009 at 10:17 amBut these people should avoid of placing negative thoughts in the minds of people
All humans are accountable for all type of atmospheric pollution. Not all nations follow recycling. As much as we pollute this globe as soon as the “Beginning of the end will begin”.
We humans are destroying the nature and this globe as a whole not nature itself.
DRILL,DRILL,DRILL, Deforestation, Plastics, Chemicals, nuclear, etc.., etc.., Stop all these.
Not only love humans love the nature equally. Humans die but the nature never.
Cut a tree for humans good but compensate by planting a tree for nature’s good.
There is no end to this earth but it might.
If there is an end may be we can postpone the end if we follow all these.
“Love human love nature” Buddha Bless You all.

December 16th, 2009 at 6:08 pmIt seems to me that we have a simple choice between two paths:
one is a graceful retreat premised on population control and non-fossil fuel energy; the other is a catastrophic collapse but simply doing nothing.

The bottom line is our theological upbringing. Look at the Tanach, The Old Testament, the Koran, you can see how man assumes that we can do anything with our environment because “G-d” allows us to do with nature as we want. For the simple reason that the Earth was made for us to use as we desire. That kind of thinking is causing our destruction. Its not to say that big corporate heads go about giving orders to strip mine our resources because “G-d” are telling them to do so, but because they received religious training as children, society forces us to believe that we have the inherit right to take from the Earth and do as we please because “G-d” allows us!
Its that ego-centric theological perspective that has placed us in the situation we are in. We also have to take into account that we are experiencing a population explosion that was unheard of in biblical times. We as a people have to keep up with the rest of the world. The need for vast amounts of food, cheap fuel and building materials outweighs the need to stop and think about the results of our actions. The fact is that we can’t stop, we will continue to explore, mine and destroy valuable ecosystems and eventually ourselves because on the end of this spectrum there are those who will profit from all of it. We are our own end. Our primitive religious thinking, the need for profit and our egocentric blind mentality will speed up our destruction.
Not earth crust displacement but our own selfless greed. Think about that when you turn the key to your ignition. When you squeeze your shampoo bottle for your morning bath, or when you heat your home. We have the means and the intelligence to make our world better but we have to change our thinking. We as a species have to “remove the souls of our own shoes, and walk a new walk.” One that will lead us to a more predicable and safer future.

December 19th, 2009 at 12:59 pmThat’s a like big mystery…yet to be unveiled…but, whatever has to happen shall happen…so be optimistic and lead a joyful life ahead…leaving behind all worries!!
February 1st, 2010 at 2:04 am2012 got me thinking and browsing to know what are the theories that attest to these hapenings. the mayans, the earth displacement theory. 10x though 4 driving the scope of my knowledge toward this direction
February 9th, 2010 at 11:08 am“2012″ is still a mystery which i think hasn’t been fully uncovered and understood. It buffles me anytime i hear about the world coming to an end in 2012.Personally i think its just a prediction and not an inevitable catastrophy.Trust me it cant be 100% accurate..”THEY” know that………
February 18th, 2010 at 1:44 pmI love that story, I wonder if there were more survivors. I want to see the continuation of 2012.
February 19th, 2010 at 10:38 amWow !

March 5th, 2010 at 10:16 amIf the other magnetic pole is the centre of Hudson Bay and we already know this scientifically then the outcome eventually will be true. Why would the earth have two poles?
March 6th, 2010 at 1:08 pm~ ~ ~ ~
The location of the Earth’s magnetic pole (which is not near the Hudson Bay) fluctuates over time. It’s movements are not yet fully understood. The earth’s axis is relatively stable only changing gradually over long periods (41,000 year cycle).
