Welcome to Flem-Ath.com
Hello! Thanks for visiting the official site of Rand & Rose Flem-Ath, authors of When the Sky Fell: In Search of Atlantis, The Atlantis Blueprint: Unlocking the Mystery of a Long-Lost Civilization, and Field of Thunder: A Thriller.
In the summer of 1976, when we first began to explore the idea of Antarctica as the site of Atlantis, the notion that civilization and climate were intimately connected wasn’t part of the cultural template. More than three decades later, the daily impact of global warming reminds us just how fragile the web of civilization is and how easily it can be torn.
Of course, the gradual degradation of our climate that we are experiencing in the form of hurricanes, rising ocean levels, droughts, floods and wild fires is not on the order of the destruction of Atlantis. It does, however, open our eyes to the possibility that what we have learned in school is not the complete story of our species. Global civilization may very well be much, much, older than we assume. It is our conviction that there is sufficient evidence to cast serious doubt upon our traditional ideas of progress. Our research points to a picture of history that is closer to the ideas of the ancients who saw human history as cyclical like the seasons. Our global civilization may be entering the late summer of its cycle and the sudden challenges of its fall may yet strain all our talents and abilities.
“Live as if you will die tomorrow, learn as if you will live forever.”

In moving to a blog site model, we have opened up the discussion and look forward to building a community of people willing to look beyond what has been commonly accepted as our history.
